VIP and loyalty points: what a tier really costs

Loyalty programmes turn betting volume into points (comp points), and points into bonus money, spins or other perks. On paper it is a bonus on every bet. Working out the return rate

Illustrative example, not a Powerbet offer: 1 point per 25 lei bet, 200 points exchange for 8 lei.

8 lei needs 200 points, i.e. 5,000 lei in bets.
Return rate: 8 ÷ 5,000 = 0.16% of turnover.
On a slot with a 4% edge, the programme lowers your average cost to about 3.84%.

If points convert into bonus money with wagering rather than cash, the value falls further — apply the formula from wagering requirements again.

Tiers: what you get and what you pay

Higher tiers usually bring a better conversion rate, bigger cashback, higher withdrawal limits or a personal manager. Each tier threshold is expressed in volume. Turn the threshold into expected loss: if the next tier needs 40,000 lei in bets, at a 4% edge the average cost is 1,600 lei. Ask whether the tier's perks are worth that.

The high roller trap

VIP programmes are built for volume. A player who climbs tiers "to get more" ends up betting more than they otherwise would, and the perks rarely cover the difference.
