Self-exclusion, breaks and limits
The control tools in your account work best when you set them before you need them. This page explains each one, from the deposit limit to self-exclusion, and how to use them. The exact options available at Powerbet are in your account settings; if you cannot find them, ask support.
Open Powerbet account settingsDeposit limit
Set the most you can deposit per day, week or month. Lowering a limit usually applies at once; raising it usually comes with a waiting period, precisely so you cannot lift it on impulse. Illustrative example: with a 500 lei monthly limit you know in advance the month's maximum loss is 500 lei, whatever offers appear.
Loss limit and session limit
A loss limit stops play when your net loss reaches a threshold. A session limit (or reality check) shows how long you have played and how much you have won or lost. Long sessions raise the amount bet, and the average cost rises with it: four hours on a slot at 400 spins an hour, 1 leu a spin and 96% RTP cost 64 lei on average.
Cooling off
A break of a few days or weeks blocks access to play. It helps after a big loss or before a period when you know you will be tempted. During the break the restriction cannot be lifted.
Self-exclusion
Self-exclusion closes access for a long period, from months to years or permanently. How to apply it:
- Open account settings, responsible gambling section.
- Choose the period; read what happens to any remaining balance.
- Confirm. Withdraw your balance first if the procedure asks you to.
- Unsubscribe from promotional emails and delete the app.
Self-excluding at one operator does not automatically exclude you from others. Some banks let you block payments to gambling sites — an extra layer of protection.
Free help
If you play from Romania, the Joc Responsabil helpline 0800 800 099 is free, Monday to Friday 09:00–17:00, with an online chat with psychologists 24/7 on jocresponsabil.ro (in Romanian). Elsewhere, look for your country's national gambling helpline. You do not have to be "in crisis" to call; being worried about how much you play is enough. More warning signs on responsible gambling.
Bonuses and self-control
Promotions are designed to bring you back. If you have set a limit, do not raise it for a bonus: the maths shows most high-wagering bonuses have negative average value — see wagering requirements.
